Shiloh

Wed we left the Trace and drove up into lower Tenn to Shiloh. This was one of the most bloody fights of the Civil War. It took all day to see all of the battle field as it is so big. Much of the fight centered around Shiloh church pictured here. It was a sober feeling to be standing on ground that took so many lives that it almost shocked both side into stopping the war. Over 23000 men and boys were killed or injured in the 2 day fight. Then we drove down to Corinth which was the center railhead for the South. There another major fight was held to see who controlled the train lines.
